The Leinster final of Scór na nÓg took place in Ballymore community centre last weekend. Samantha McHale (third year), was victorious in the solo singing competition. Samantha overcame very stiff competition to secure her place in the All-Ireland Final, and sang extremely well on the day. Longford had competitors in the ballad group, instrumental group, recitation, sketch and set dancing and were unfortunate not to secure their place in Castlebar next February. Well done to all. Best of luck to Samantha in the final, which will be held in the Royal Theatre Castlebar on February 18th. Students who would like to purchase tickets for the event can avail of them from the GAA county board.
