Shortlisted Short Film Success
We would like to congratulate our First Year student Rachel Mc Hugh whose entry to the Saint Patrick’s University Hospital, Frame of Mind Short Film competition, was one of the ten films shortlisted nationally. The Frame of Mind Competition runs annually and the purpose of the competition it to try and destigmatize mental health and normalise conversations around mental health. Rachel, as one of the ten shortlisted competitors was invited to attend an awards ceremony in Saint Patrick’s University Hospital, Dublin, on Thursday May 1st. Rachel travelled to Dublin accompanied by her teacher Ms Bonner, her parents and a group of First Year students. At the ceremony, the attendees and nominees were treated to a screening of all of the shortlisted films, including five shortlisted entries for Youthreach / FE centres. All fifteen films were fantastic. It was amazing to see the diverse interpretations of this year's theme of gratitude. Rachel's film 'Find Joy in the Little Things' was very well received by the audience. She received a beautiful framed certificate in recognition of her talent. Rachel’s film is available to view on our social media platforms and is a beautiful, evocative piece about the importance of finding joy in the little things. We would like to once again congratulate Rachel and also acknowledge the support of her teacher Ms Bonner. Maith thú Rachel!
