Christmas Carol Service
Our annual Christmas Carol Service took place in Saint Mel’s Cathedral on Thursday, December 19th. As always the service was moving, poignant and inspirational. Under the guidance of our incredibly talented Ms Reilly, students performed solos, instrumental pieces and sang Christmas carols that recounted the miracle of Christmas. The service also included beautiful readings and prayers. Thank you to our dedicated music and religion teachers, to the performers and all who participated in the event and finally to those attended.

Christmas Talent Show
Thursday, December 19th marked what is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the school calendar- namely our annual Talent Show. This year TYs promoted the show as the Spectacular Talent Show and every performance lived up the title! From singing to dancing to drama every act mesmerised. The atmosphere in the hall was simply electric as students witnessed the incredible array of talent of their fellow classmates. Traditionally, our Leaving Certificate Class take the final slot and the Leaving Certificate Class of 2025 certainly raised the bar with a three part performance culminating in a lively rendition of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”
A huge well done to all students who took part in our Christmas Talent Show and a special well done to producers Lucy Maher, Joni Clarke, Erin Murray and Matilda Sullivan who worked so hard to get the show to the stage, well done girls! Thank you to Kevin Hussey, Board of Management, for providing lighting and sound which added so much to the show. We would also like to especially thank Ms O’ Brien for her dedication to this annual event.

Saint Vincent de Paul Food Appeal
On Monday, December 16th, we welcomed Sr Michelle, a volunteer from the Longford branch of SVP to our school. The students welcomed her and thanked her for her work. Sr Michelle gave a speech highlighting how beneficial the food boxes are to people in the local community. We gathered 12 big boxes in total, fitting with the 12 days of Christmas. A heartfelt thank you to all the students and to the whole school community who donated so generously. ‘Bíonn blas ar an mbeagán- enough is as good as a feast.
