Basketball Games v SHS Tullamore
Our u16 and u19 teams were both in action against SHS Tullamore today in the Mall. First up were the cadets who recorded an impressive victory after a very determined and committed effort on both ends of the floor. Our senior team battled hard throughout before eventually being beaten. Both teams deserve tremendous credit for their response to two tough defeats last week. Attention now turns to our last group game early next week away to Tullamore College.

Camogie Training
There was another large attendance at camogie training on Thursday. The girls enjoyed the novelty of a new venue, St Mel’s College, where they made excellent use of the handball alleys to really focus on their striking. This was a very worthwhile exercise and the improvements very obvious, a big thanks to St Mel’s for the use of their facilities. Training continues next Thursday, new players always welcome.

Rugby
The girls enjoyed their first blitz of the year. One first year team and 2 junior teams travelled to Edenderry RFC. All girls performed very well, with the first years winning 2 games and both our junior teams also getting a few wins on the day. There was some excellent display of rugby throughout, with many girls new to the sport but grasping the game well.
We look forward to our next blitz which will be held in November.
